Configuring Wave Connect SIMs in Ksenia Lares Alarm Systems
Follow these steps to configure the SIM settings on your Ksenia Lares panel:
Step 1: Access Programming
Use your installer credentials to log in via: - A web browser to the panel’s local IP - Ksenia SecureWeb - The Ksenia Pro app
Step 2: Clear Security Details
Navigate to Programming > Interfaces > GSM (Mobile Network).
Leave the PIN Code field completely blank.
Step 3: Configure the APN Profile
Set the following values: - APN:
wbdata(lowercase, no trailing spaces) - Username: Leave blank - Password: Leave blank
Step 4: Enable Roaming (If Applicable)
If your firmware includes a “Data Roaming”/“Roaming Dati” checkbox in advanced network/carrier properties, ensure it is checked.
Note: Ksenia LTE add-on modules and gemino IoT devices handle roaming at the modem level. Once the APN is set to
wbdata, they will automatically negotiate roaming.
Step 5: Save and Apply
Click Send all or Load at the top to push the configuration to the control panel.
Step 6: Verify the Connection
Wait 2–5 minutes for the module to reboot its cellular stack and attach to the network.
From the installer Dashboard/Home, check the GSM status widget to confirm: - Connected status - Latched local carrier (e.g., Vodafone/TIM/Wind Tre) - Healthy signal strength (dBm)
Troubleshooting SIM Recognition Issues
If the Ksenia alarm system does not recognize the Wave Connect SIM after correct APN setup, try the following steps:
Step 1: Test the SIM in Another Device
Insert the SIM into a different device to determine whether the issue lies with the SIM card or the alarm’s modem.
Step 2: Check Device Compatibility
Be aware that some devices may not support permanent-roaming, multi-network SIMs.
Note: The Ksenia alarm system is not listed as compatible with such SIMs in our records. Some units may only work with single-network operators (e.g., Vodafone or TIM).
By following these steps, you can configure your Wave Connect SIM and address common issues effectively. If problems persist, consider reaching out to technical support for further assistance.
